Eyvind Johnson shared the 1974 Nobel Prize in Literature with Harry Martinsson and is one of the biggest names in 20th century literature in Sweden.
Eyvind was born and grew up in Boden and the environments here are also depicted in some of his books. In the summer, you can visit the baker's cottage where he was born, at Björkelund in Boden. In and around the cottage, you can go on a guided tour of Björkelund, buy books, have coffee and take part in other activities.
If you want to know more about Eyvind Johnson, walk through the city in his footsteps. Follow the signs 'City walk in the footsteps of Eyvind Johnson', starting at the train station and ending at the pedestrian street.
